Edited to add: you can now find them in the Beadeux shop, in the Needle Minder Section!
I have to thank Rebecca of Hugs are Fun for this idea as well! Needle minders are brilliant little magnets that attach to your cloth and keep your needles where you want them when not in use. You can always find it them, unlike when I used to stick mine in the arm of my chair as a teenager doing beadwork (sorry Mom!)
I designed these to match the floss holders we made for Week 07. The wood is etched bamboo and is 3mm thick. I didn’t have a good thin opal acrylic that would look good when etched, so the alternative to wood is my favorite two-toned brushed silver and black acrylic.
The biggest difference between the wood and the acrylic is thickness. By necessity, the bamboo is 3mm. The acrylic is half that, and seems to have a stronger magnetic force because if it. Or possibly plastic is more conductive than wood. The bamboo couldn’t handle the super thick tapestry needle, while the acrylic stuck right to it. The big needle is huge – 2.5mm thick itself. I actually don’t even remember why I have one that thick!
So neat!
